Is a Testosterone Booster Natural? What the Word Does and Does Not Promise
Natural on a supplement label is a marketing word, not a safety guarantee. NCCIH says natural does not always mean safe, and FDA says it has found hidden prescription drugs in products labeled natural. SodaPeak's names are mostly plant extracts, a glandular ingredient and a mineral chelate, but the label does not call itself natural.

The word01
What does natural mean on a supplement?
Very little. It says something about where an ingredient came from, not how safe it is or how well it works.
NCCIH says natural does not always mean safe, and that supplements can interact with medicines (NCCIH, Using Supplements Wisely). A plant can be potent and can be harmful. A herb with a long traditional story can still interact with a blood thinner or strain the liver.
FDA's view02
What does FDA say about natural products?
That "all natural" is a red flag, because natural-labeled products have been found with hidden prescription drugs.
FDA's list of tip-offs to health fraud includes "all natural" used as proof, and notes that FDA has found natural-labeled products with hidden prescription drugs (FDA, 6 Tip-offs to Rip-offs). Its notice on one sexual-enhancement product urged caution with similar products often marketed as all natural (FDA, X10 hidden ingredients notice).
| Natural suggests | It does not show |
|---|---|
| Plant or mineral source | That the dose is safe |
| A traditional story | That it works in trials |
| No synthetic additives | That nothing undeclared is inside |
| Gentle on the body | That it will not interact with medicines |
SodaPeak03
What are SodaPeak's ingredients, as sources?
Six plant extracts or powders, one glandular ingredient and one mineral chelate. The label itself does not say natural.
Those are horny goat weed, tongkat ali, saw palmetto, nettle root, wild yam and sarsaparilla; orchic substance, which is animal-derived; and a boron amino acid chelate. Sources list cautions for each, such as bleeding with saw palmetto and blood thinners (MSK, Saw Palmetto). Natural origin did not remove those.

How should I treat the word natural?
As a description, not a promise. Look for amounts, a maker and a lab report instead.
Ignore the word
Judge on the panel, not the adjective.
Check medicines
Natural herbs can interact with prescribed ones.
Ask for the lab report
It is the only thing that shows what is inside.
