Muscle Performance Support: What the Label Wording Means and What Sources Say Helps

Quick answer

Supports healthy muscle is a structure and function phrase, and FDA has not evaluated it. Sources name training and rest as what keeps muscle: Mayo Clinic advises working all major muscle groups at least two times a week, and CDC advises muscle-strengthening on 2 or more days. This site claims no muscle result for SodaPeak.

The wording01

What does supports healthy muscle mean on a label?

It is a structure and function statement. It describes a role in the body and may not claim to treat a disease.

FDA requires a notice that it has not evaluated the statement and that the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and a company notifying FDA is not the same as FDA approval (FDA, Structure/Function Claims). The bottle's asterisk points to that notice. The phrase is permitted wording, not a measured result.

What helps02

What do sources say keeps muscle?

Regular strength training, enough rest and enough protein.

Mayo Clinic says strength training can help you keep and increase muscle mass and strength as you get older, with all major muscle groups worked at least two times a week and a full rest day between sessions for each group (Mayo Clinic, Strength training). CDC advises muscle-strengthening on 2 or more days a week (CDC, Adult Activity).

What sources say about keeping muscle
FactorSource note
Strength trainingAt least 2 days a week, all major groups
RestOne full day between sessions for each group
ProgressionAdd weight gradually when reps become easy
ProteinSupports muscle repair; no concern up to about 2.0 g per kg a day for athletes (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)

A blend03

Where does a herbal blend fit?

No source we read shows that SodaPeak's blend changes muscle.

NIH notes the effects of multi-ingredient products cannot be known or predicted (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements). The label's wording is permitted, and the benefits page sets each possible claim beside its evidence.

  1. Bottle front“SUPPORTS HEALTHY MUSCLE*”Structure/function wording; the star leads to the FDA statement. Such a claim may not say the product treats or prevents disease, and no source tests this formula. (FDA, Structure/Function Claims)
  2. Panel“Test Boost Proprietary Blend 1200mg”One total for eight names, no amount for any of them. Blend members are listed from most to least by weight, so the order caps each one. (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR))
  3. Seller briefmuscle, stamina, energy, vitality, immune and focus 'as printed'No trial of SodaPeak was found. For multi-ingredient products one cannot know or predict the effects and safety of the combination. (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)
  4. Common claim“Tongkat ali is a testosterone herb”LiverTox reports mild rises in total testosterone in human studies of tongkat ali alone, not linked to better athletic performance, and an EFSA opinion that its safety is not established. That is about the herb, not this blend. (NIDDK LiverTox, Tongkat Ali)
  5. Common claim“Boron and testosterone”The NIH fact sheet on boron does not address testosterone in men; it lists preliminary evidence for bone and joints and an upper limit of 20 mg a day. (NIH ODS, Boron)
  6. Common claim“Saw palmetto is for the prostate”NCCIH concludes saw palmetto is probably not helpful for urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate. This site makes no prostate claim; see a clinician for prostate questions. (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto)
  7. Common question“Is it like testosterone therapy?”No. Testosterone products are prescription drugs approved only for men with low levels and a medical cause; SodaPeak is a supplement, and the brief itself says not TRT. (FDA, Testosterone Information)

Claims as printed on the bottle and in the seller brief. Health claims need competent and reliable scientific evidence, generally human trials of the same product (FTC, Health Products Guidance).
