Large retailers often run a marketplace alongside their own shelves, so a listing under a big name can be sold by an outside seller. The checks are the same as for any listing: who sells it, what the bottle shows and what the return terms say.

On a retailer's site, read the line that says sold by and shipped by. They may be different companies.

Why check at all?
Because the checks are cheap and the downside is a bottle you cannot trace.
FDA warns that products sold for sexual enhancement or bodybuilding, online and in stores, can contain hidden drugs, and that a product missing from its lists is not thereby safe (FDA, Tainted Sexual Enhancement). We have no test that says SodaPeak is affected. A named seller, a lot code and a return policy are how you protect yourself.
