How do countdown clocks work?
They create urgency. A timer, a "few left" notice or a banner that says the price ends tonight all push you to decide before you think.
Many such timers reset when you reload the page, and stock notices can be fixed text. FDA's list of tip-offs to health fraud names quick fixes and secret-ingredient pitches, and these pressure tools often travel with them (FDA, 6 Tip-offs to Rip-offs). A genuine seller does not need you to rush.

How do I judge a sale fairly?
